Mid semester break is here and my sister needed a break. Hence, a spontaneous trip to Penang to visit my grandma and have a walk around for a change of environment.

Had my first visit here at Macalister Mansion. It's a hotel equipped with a swimming pool, a bar next to it, a drinking area and 8 hotel rooms.

Finally wore this dress again after God knows how long. #ootd

The yard in front of "Living Room" which is the whole day restaurant and where we had our lunch.

Interior of the "Living Room":

My cup of Cappuccino - RM15.90

My sister's Hot Chocolate - RM12.90

The menu was pretty fancy to the point where I didn't know what to order. So, just to be safe, I ordered Salmon although the waiter did told me that it might be a little dry because of the style of cooking.

It was kind of like grilled salmon to me, and below it there were slices of potatoes. This dish cost RM33.95.

My sister on the other hand ordered a Japanese Burger which cost RM28.30

It was quite an experience dining in Macalister Mansion. I would definitely go back there again but it would have to depend on what occasion is it for. Before leaving, we took a stroll around the building and saw some pretty fancy set ups.

This section is known as "The Cellar" where people can have drinks and probably discuss some RM2.6 billion business :P - because it's just that fancy!

So, Francis Light left his head here. Haha

Favourite selfie of that day! :)

Sorry for this picture spam & very less words post. I am super busy catching up with my assignments dateline and also to prepare for finals. Can't believe that finals is in 3 weeks' time and I feel that I know nothing. For the first time, I feel very very clueless for finals and I have a bad feeling about it. Hope everything goes well tho despite the negative attitude of mine now.

Till my next post. Cheers. xx

OOTD from Zalora

Melanie, Jessica and I had planned for this lunch few days ago, and it became a belated birthday lunch instead for Jessica as her birthday was last Friday. In the morning, I drove to Taylor's University to pick up Melanie, and then braved through the KL traffic to Sungei Wang to pick up Jessica, and we 3 headed to Acme Bar & Coffee at The Troika. This was my first time dining here, whereas Mel and Jessica had been here before.

Acme Bar & Coffee
No.19 Ground Floor, The Troika
Jalan Persiaran KLCC, 50450 Kuala Lumpur
Tel: 03-2162288

We ordered 3 different dishes and share them amongst the 3 of us.

My order: Mac & Cheese

When it was first served to me, the first impression that I had was of the size of the serving. It was so small that I thought RM29 for this was overrated. In the end, I was glad that it was more than enough to fill my empty stomach. It has a lot of cheese which makes it very filling, but the macaroni was a tad dry but it was still okay overall.

Melanie's order: Salmon Fillet

It tasted a lot like grilled salmon although the description in the menu didn't specify it. It's very good and definitely worth RM39. Portion may be small, but since when Salmon comes cheap? Haha.

Jessica's order: Beef Pie, RM39

I didn't had much of it but the mushroom was heaven! The first bites, it tasted as if it was barbecued? Haha. I really have no idea how did they cook it but it was really good.

The atmosphere of the shop gives you a very high class feeling and the selection of music gives you a very relaxing time over a meal or even for conversations. I would definitely go back there one day, but of course, with occasion. Haha.

We then left for Pavilion as Jessica needed to attend the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, which commenced at 3pm. Initially, I just needed to drop her off but halfway through lunch, Boo called needing my help to get some colour papers for his company's upcoming fair. At the same time, Melanie needed to kill some time before fetching her sister from uni at 5pm. So, we decided to hang around in Pavilion and then stopped by Boo's office to deliver him the papers that I managed to buy.

Not my picture, got it from other Instagrammer but it looks as if what we always see on TV shows!

SHE WAS THERE AND I SAW HER!

Before Jessica needed to go for the event, we actually walked around for a bit and I saw so many well known people. I saw Bobo Stephanie, Audrey, Kittie Yiyi (fashion designer), and some others whom I don't really know well but according to Jessica, they are famous. Haha. Then Jessica burst out "Is that Amber Chia?!" Turning to my right, I saw her walked pass me! She looks so elegant and very tall! Haha. Didn't manage to stop her to take a picture with her because it was such a sudden moment.

Not being able to go to Singapore as our holiday, we planned to go back to our hometown as our little getaway before university starts. It will be too long to blog about every detail for the past one week. Hence, it's just going to be about places and significant activities that we did. Haha.

Taiping, Perak

We arrived back in Ipoh on Saturday morning and after lunch, my family and I along with Belle drove to Taiping for a little site seeing, visit the newly opened Aeon, as well as a boat ride at night to learn more about the rivers as well as to see 6km long of fireflies. Before the boat ride, we had seafood dinner in a restaurant nearby. Didn't manage to capture any picture of the firefly because it was too faint to be captured by our phone camera.

For the boat ride package, I would strongly recommend this guy here:

First time witnessing so many eagles together as well as to watch how they feed

Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Club

After having a dim sum breakfast at Ming Court, Ipoh, we made a trip to clearwater to have a little walk around. Mainly it was because of pictures that I saw that was very nice taken by some acquaintances and luckily, we found the exact location.

One of the iconic places to visit around Ipoh/Perak is the Kellie's Castle. I've been there myself for a few times, but Belle had not. So, we'd decided to go on Monday morning after having our brunch at Petit Mary Patisserie.

Concubine Lane & Mural Art around Old Town, Ipoh

Not much photos from my side, most of it is with Belle. Haha. Here, Belle experienced for the first time in making her own cotton candy which is the one that I am holding in the picture. After that, we walked around to look for the mural paintings but the weather was too hot to stay for long.

Kampar, Perak

On Wednesday morning, I drove us both to Kampar as Belle has not been there and wanted to have a tour around UTAR. Upon arriving the entrance gate, I notice there were a lot of cars and from experience, I would be cursing if someone gets stopped at the security check just because they do not have a car sticker. I didn't want to risk it, so I made a U-Turn and only manage to see a little bit of it from the outside. After leaving UTAR, I've heard of lots of development ongoing around the area and decided to went for a little site seeing. Before leaving, I drove around Kampar town as well as the train station.

Pretty new buildings

Michelangelo Pizzeria

On Wednesday night, we went to Michelangelo for dinner and then Zakka Loft which is just across the road for dessert.

Their special Rainbow Cake where each colour has a different flavor

Ice cream Brownie

Yoke Fook Moon, Dim Sum Restaurant

One of my favourite Dim Sum place because of their 'Lau Sa Pau' which is super delicious. Bought a few back to KL for Boo to enjoy as well.

Train ride back to KL together.

See you on the 4th! :)
